About Xyomara

Meet Xyomara

Taking a leap of faith to go after the life you believe is certainly possible. It takes courage, massive trust in yourself, and something higher than yourself.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico in a Catholic household, I had many ideas about how my life was supposed to turn out. Complete high school, dress to impress, watch your language, go to college, find a job, get married and have kids, take care of the home and the family, go to church, and do all the stereotypical things Hispanic females are expected to do since birth. However, one day I clearly remember asking myself, is this truly how I want my life to be? Is this the life that Xyomara truly wants?
Something deep inside me kept me wondering about life and what else was possible. I knew that to get answers, I needed to take a leap of faith and leave the place I had known my whole life. I needed to move away from my family, friends, and everything around me that kept me trapped in a vicious cycle of always doing more to feel loved, feel enough and feel a sense of belonging.

Trusting my intuition, in 1999, I moved to the United States to continue my college education without being fully aware that I was about to change the course of my life. It was at that moment that my self-discovery journey began. What I didn’t know is that all my experiences, both positive and negative, would shape up my life and have an impact on my experiences.

Do these negative beliefs sound familiar?

The list goes on and on!

So much doubt and fear surrounded me.

Should’ve, could’ve, would’ve, and so on. The struggle was real, and not knowing how to manage it, I did what most of us do, numb myself from the world and give all my power away by letting others dictate my life.

I became a movie character in my own life. I was so worried about fitting into societal expectations and being that perfect good girl that I hid behind an eating disorder, a psychologically and emotionally abusive relationship, and a demanding corporate environment. I kept doing things to please others and working hard to climb the corporate ladder to prove myself, be loved, and feel validated. Despite my deep intuition telling me that there was more in life, I played it safe. By believing there was more in life and yet denying my wants and needs to please others, I was betraying my true self. I was unaware that to live a life true to myself, I needed to identify and challenge the beliefs holding me back from the life I dreamed of.

After many years of struggles, self-help books, and therapy, I decided to reclaim my power and figure out how to break away from my personal pain and set free. I finally realized that I have been showing up in life based on the expectations of others instead of embracing my true self.

It was not until I connected with my inner knowing and strengthened my spirituality that I started unfolding the part of me that was hidden and began to believe that my dream life was possible. It was not until then that I started purging everything I had become due to other’s expectations and created space for all I truly am. Over time, I learned how to break away from the expectations of others and the illusionary stories that were weighing me down. I have learned how to identify the self-sabotaging behaviors that kept me feeling invisible and unworthy of more, and I began to love myself. I finally stopped going through life by merely existing and started living life on my own terms!

Choosing and loving myself first led me to fall in love with wellness, which is living my life to the fullest by showing self-love with every action I take. I found my true purpose by trusting my inner voice, and ‘Redefining Your Wellness’ was born. The program I created combines 21 + years of experience as a Registered Dietitian and Professional Coach, life lessons, behavioral strategies, and nutrigenomic concepts to help intuitively unfold what’s stopping you from achieving your wellness goals. Learning how to deepen my practice of self-love by respecting my body, mind, and spirit has become my passion. It taught me how to properly nourish and nurture my body, mind and soul to optimize my health and share my knowledge with others to help them do the same. I know I still have lessons to learn and wounds to heal, but I am 100% committed to this journey and everything that comes along with it.

I am dedicated to helping women redefine their wellness to live a life filled with possibilities, health, purpose, and adventure one day at a time, one step at a time. By creating expansion for others together, we will create a ripple effect that will help transform everyone around us. Hi! My name is Xyomara Beltran, Founder, and Consultant for xoxo4wellness. The term epigenetic means above the genes and it tells us how our environment and lifestyle determine how our genes express themselves or behave.
Nutrigenomics is the study of how food interacts with your genes and how individual genetic differences can affect your requirements and how you respond to vitamins, minerals, and compounds in the food you eat. It’s the relationship between nutrients, diet and gene expression.
It looks at how we respond to nutrients based on our genetic profile.
Genes are our blueprint for life. Our lifestyle choices and environment determine how our genes behave and express to the outside world. By making informed choices about what food to eat, we can provide specific information to our genes to optimize their function in our body. Subsequently, we can evaluate how our genes respond to those nutrients based on our genetic expression.
